I tend to use a lot of the same ingredients in my recipes mainly because they are so versatile. You can pretty much pair ingredients such as chicken, pasta, lentils, and vegetables with anything, but when you rely on the same dish over and over, after a while it can become a bit boring.
It’s the small additions that can transform a dish into something completely different. By adding tinned tomatoes and vegetables to some lentils you can create a delicious vegetarian bolognese, or by adding coconut milk (and chicken if you’re feeling meaty)– a delicious, creamy curry.
It can even be as simple as adding salt and pepper or a bay leaf. Food doesn’t have to be bland. Why not take a trip to the supermarket and start experimenting!
